Colouring Pencils :
There is a huge range of colouring pencils brands. Some are more expensive than others because they are really good brands. Not everyone needs expensive pencils brands unless you are a professional artist that sells their drawings. Then you might consider buying more expensive colouring pencils because you don’t want your colouring pencil colour to fade over time.
Some of the more expensive colouring brands include Caran D’ Ache - They make a wide variety of colouring pencil types from more on the high end to more affordable. Their high-end ones are Luminance. They also have watercolour ones, Museum Aquarelle, Supercolor soft Aquarelle pencils and more. Faber Castell has a wide variety of different colour pencils for different types of budgets. From high-end ones that are Poloychromos the most expensive ones they sell. For more affordable, Grip pencils, Albrecht Dürer water colour, and Classic colour ones are best for school children and children who like to make art.
If you want a more detailed explanation of high-quality artist colour pencils please head to the 'pencil' section in the subheading 'supplies' and scroll down a bit (it's the third thing you will see). If you want a more detailed explanation of these 2 brands mentioned that is coming soon.
Some of the more affordable colouring pencil brands for primary, elementary and middle school children include:
-
Faber Castell Classic Colour - you can get sets that include 12 pencils, 24 pencils, 36 pencils and 48 pencils
-
Crayola - This brand is a little more affordable if you want to get many colouring pencils - you can get sets that include 12 pencils, 24 pencils and 100 pencils. They also have different types of pencils like triangular, erasable, scented, the different skin tone colours of the world and much more for you to discover. (You can find my post on Colours on the world in the colours section.)
-
Study mate - This brand makes cheap colouring pencils for a good range of pencils - You can get 12 pencils, 24 pencils, 60 pencils and 36 pencils. They also make different pencils like jumbo, watercolour, tins, triangular and packs.
-
Staedtler - They make 12 pencils, 24 pencils, 10 pencils, 72 pencils, and 36 pencils. They have lots of types of pencils for you to discover from Noris pencils to Triangular.
Bibliography:
Sharpeners:
There is a good sharper I recommend because it has two holes which is useful for thin and thick pencil types. Meaning you can have a wide range of pencils without having to worry about your pencils fitting into the sharpener. The sharpener that I like is by Staedtler. You can get it from Officeworks and it is $4.98 which is basically $5.
Ruler:
There are a lot of rulers out there for you to choose from and I recommend getting a cheap ruler like the Studymate ones for less than a dollar. Because you might not use your ruler a lot and you might find that getting one that is more than a dollar can be a bit of a waste of money.
Rubbers:
Faber Castell makes good rubbers. They have large green rubbers which are PVC free, 2 - pack of PVC red rubbers, dust-free rubbers, artist dust free and white PVC-free rubber. I haven’t tried all of them but I have tried a good range to know which is a good rubber. In my opinion, the red PVC-free rubber that comes in a 2-pack is great to use or the black artist dust-free rubber. The red rubber that comes in a 2-pack from Officeworks is $2 and the black rubber is $6.45 for the 2-pack.
